Sargon was an ancient king of Akkad who ruled from 2334–2279 B.C. He led Akkad to conquer parts of southern Mesopotamia including Syria, Anatolia, and Elam. Sargon's vast empire is thought to have included large parts of Mesopotamia and included parts of modern-day Iran, Asia, and Syria.
Enmebaragesi was the first king of Kish beginning around 2500 B.C. and reigned for over 85 years according to the Sumerian King List. He is said to have built the first temple of Kish. He was said to be captured and killed by Dumuzid of Kuara, the king-to-be of Gilgamesh according to the later king of Shulgi during the Sumerian Renassiance. He addressed the king of Gilgamesh in one of his "praise poems" talking about how he captured Enmebaragesi.
Ur-Nammu founded the sumerian dynasty of Ur. The location of this dynasty was in southern Mesopotamia.This dynasty was established around 2045 B.C. after several years of Akkadian and Gutian rule. He is remembered today for his famous legal code, The Code of Ur-Nammu. As a military leader he was able to take over Lagash and later Uruk. He is believed to have constructed buildings at Nippur, Larsa, Kish, Adab, and Umma. He also restored the roads of his city after the Gutian Period, when they were destroyed.
He lead the building of many ziggurats, or stepped temples including the Great Ziggurat of Ur.
